During the recent summer transfer window, Mainoo expressed a desire to leave on loan to gain more playing time. However, Manchester United immediately blocked this option and declared no intention to let him go.

Not only Brown, but many other experts have also voiced support for Mainoo. Former midfielder Owen Hargreaves praised the young player as the “best performer” for Man United after the match against Man City. Meanwhile, legend Gary Lineker openly criticized Amorim, calling the decision to sideline Mainoo puzzling and potentially harmful to the team’s progress.

The disagreement between Amorim and Man United’s top management is viewed as a worrying sign since a major club requires unified development strategies. Nonetheless, at least for now, the board remains firm: Mainoo will definitely not leave Old Trafford.
