Semifinal 1 of the 2025 U17 National Championship Finals – Thai Son Nam Cup: Defending champion Hanoi secures a spot in the final.
By defeating U17 SHB Da Nang in the first semifinal held on the afternoon of September 24, the reigning U17 Hanoi team earned the first ticket to the final of the 2025 U17 National Championship Finals – Thai Son Nam Cup.
U17 Hanoi started the match with great confidence right after the whistle. At the second minute, the defending champions nearly scored against U17 SHB Da Nang when Nguyen Luc broke through from 2 meters out but failed to finish. U17 Hanoi dominated the game from the start, pressuring the young team from the Han River. Under this pressure, U17 SHB Da Nang’s defense became unsettled and made mistakes.
At the 17th minute, from a relatively harmless long ball by Nguyen Luc, U17 SHB Da Nang’s goalkeeper Hoang Phuc mishandled the ball, allowing Manh Quan to quickly control and score at close range, putting U17 Hanoi ahead. At the 24th minute, Van Tan headed the ball in a favorable position after a corner kick from a teammate, but the U17 SHB Da Nang goalkeeper caught it securely.
In the first half, U17 SHB Da Nang had few opportunities to threaten the opponent’s goal due to their midfield losing control of the ball. However, halftime adjustments by coach Doan Hung Son helped U17 SHB Da Nang play better in the second half. At the 48th minute, Van An took a free kick from the 16.5-meter line of U17 Hanoi, goalkeeper Ba Huan pushed the ball onto the crossbar and out, and Tin Tin rushed in to head the equalizing goal, making it 1-1 for U17 SHB Da Nang.
Afterward, U17 SHB Da Nang created a decent game against U17 Hanoi. However, their defense was somewhat disorganized, allowing U17 Hanoi to generate more dangerous chances. At the 72nd minute, Anh Quan handled the ball inside the penalty area, resulting in a penalty kick. Manh Quan did not miss this golden opportunity to score, increasing the lead to 2-1 for the defending champions.
With a 2-1 victory, U17 Hanoi clinches the first ticket to the final. Meanwhile, after losing in the semifinal, U17 SHB Da Nang is awarded third place.
