On the afternoon of September 24, the Vietnam futsal team achieved a 4-0 victory over Lebanon, officially qualifying for the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship finals with a flawless 9 points. This result reflects the well-deserved success of Coach Diego Giustozzi’s squad after three matches.
Right after the match ended, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) sent their congratulations to the Vietnam futsal team: "A perfect win leading the way to the #ACFutsal2026 finals!! Congratulations to the Vietnam Futsal team", the AFC Asian Cup homepage shared. Below the post, many local fans expressed their support and praise for the players.
Besides the AFC, the Asean Football page also praised the red-shirted squad for this achievement: "Congratulations to the Vietnam Futsal team for qualifying for the AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2026 in Indonesia as the top team in Group E after three consecutive wins in the qualifiers! Vietnam’s futsal team started the match with a relaxed mindset, needing only a draw to advance. However, Coach Diego Giustozzi’s players were determined to secure all three points by increasing the tempo immediately after the kickoff, continuously pressuring their opponents who struggled due to Lebanon’s limited stamina.
In the 9th minute, Manh Dung successfully intercepted the ball and assisted Da Hai to score the opening goal. Less than a minute later, Cong Vien passed back to Manh Dung, who fired a low shot to double the lead to 2-0. The momentum continued as, in the 10th minute, Ngoc Anh stole the ball from the opponent and set up Minh Quang to score, putting Vietnam ahead 3-0.
In the second half, the advantage grew when Lebanon’s Hassan Alame received a direct red card in the 24th minute. Just 15 seconds after gaining the numerical advantage, Ngoc Anh capitalized on the opportunity to score the final goal, securing a 4-0 win for the red team.
