In the last round of Group A, the Vietnam U18 team achieved a 4-0 win over Zhejiang FC (China), finishing the Seoul EOU Cup friendly with two defeats and one victory.
On the afternoon of September 24, the Vietnam U18 team ended their journey in Group A of the 2025 Seoul EOU Cup International Youth Football Tournament with a 4-0 win against Zhejiang FC (China).
Despite unfavorable weather conditions, Coach Yutaka Ikeuchi’s players started the match confidently. In the very first minute, the U18 Vietnam player wearing number 8 quickly opened the scoring. By the 23rd minute, Đậu Hồng Phong doubled the lead with a decisive strike, closing the first half with Vietnam U18 ahead 2-0.
In the second half, Zhejiang FC pushed forward seeking to equalize, but Vietnam’s defense remained focused and waited for counterattack opportunities. At the 62nd minute, Nguyễn Lê Phát capitalized on a well-placed pass from a teammate to score the third goal. Then, at the 81st minute, Nguyễn Thành Long scored after a rebound from the opposing defense, sealing the 4-0 victory.
At the end of the group stage, Vietnam U18 recorded one win and two losses. Although they did not advance, Coach Yutaka Ikeuchi’s team showed clear progress: they lost 1-5 to K League Youth in their opener, then delivered a solid performance against Japan’s U18 Kanto, narrowly losing 0-1, and finally secured a convincing win over Zhejiang FC.
Meanwhile, Zhejiang FC ended the tournament with a less impressive record, achieving only one draw and two losses.
