Head coach Glenn Ramos of Cebu Club shared that the team from the Philippines gave their best effort but couldn’t overcome the very strong CAHN side.
Recently, Cebu Club from the Philippines fought hard but failed to secure a point away in Vietnam. They defended resolutely against CAHN throughout the match, but Cao Jason Pendant Quang Vinh shone and secured 3 points for the Police-affiliated team.
After the match, head coach Glenn Ramos of Cebu Club expressed some regret but also pride in his players’ strong defensive performance.
“I am very proud of my players both in the match against Tampines Rovers and today’s game. They gave their all. It’s unfortunate we conceded in the final minute, but that doesn’t disappoint me.”Coach Ramos added.
“Against a well-controlled team like CAHN, our young squad tried to hold on for a draw. But CAHN has many quality players. Honestly, I can’t single out the best player on their side because everyone performed well and demonstrated clear class. CAHN plays as a team, not relying on individuals.”
Meanwhile, coach Mano Polking insisted that CAHN’s victory was not due to luck:“We had to win this match, but it’s not a lucky victory for CAHN. We controlled and dominated the game, so this cannot be called a fortunate win.”
In other Group A matches, Buriram United and BG Pathum United drew 2-2. Buriram remains winless after two matches in the ASEAN Club Championship, drawing both games. Meanwhile, Selangor defeated Tampines Rovers to claim first place, tied on points with BG Pathum but ahead on goal difference. Cebu sits last after two losses, with CAHN in fourth place.
In the next match on December 3rd, CAHN will travel to face Buriram United.
