Milan is ready to 'battle' Napoli

The easy 3-0 win against Lecce in the Round of 16 of the Italian Cup marked Milan’s fourth straight victory, all without conceding a goal. The more they play, the clearer the transformation under the veteran coach Max Allegri becomes. Now, San Siro is filled with hope, and they are ready for the biggest test: Napoli in Serie A this weekend.

Facing a weak Lecce and buoyed by confidence from three consecutive Serie A wins, Coach Allegri, though still directing from the stands, comfortably fielded a starting eleven with many changes. Notably, veteran Luka Modric was given a full rest for the first time. Theo has left, Leao is still injured, but Milan is increasingly showing variety and danger from multiple directions. In midfield, Adrien Rabiot continued to prove his worth by completely dominating the central area, though he was unlucky not to score despite two excellent chances.

This comfortable victory leads Milan to face Lazio in the Round of 16, but that’s more than three months away. For now, bring on Napoli — Allegri’s team is ready for a huge challenge! Except for the shocking Serie A opener loss to Cremonese, which can be considered an accident, Milan has won the other five official matches without conceding. They know Napoli will be an opponent of a completely different caliber, a fitting test to measure their tremendous progress. But with the San Siro advantage and a spirit soaring like a kite, the Rossoneri are ready for the epic clash.
