Cambodia's futsal team ended their 2026 Asian qualifiers campaign on a high note by beating Macau 11-2.
Cambodia broke the deadlock in the 7th minute through Chen Sovanhang, then an intended clearance by Leong Kei In deflected off Chuop Seyha into the net, doubling the Southeast Asian side’s lead four minutes later. Sovanhang scored his second goal at the 15th minute, and a minute later, Danyth Saray extended the gap with a solo effort.
In the second half, Cambodia maintained control with goals from Keo Cheatuo (23rd, 40th minutes), Keo Sochetra (24th), Ros Simchamroeun (25th), Seyha (33rd, 39th), and Ros Sirotha (40th), while Macau added two consolation goals by Leong Hou In (32nd) and Fong Chi Wa (35th).
Despite the 11-2 final score against Macau, Cambodia failed to qualify for the 2026 Asian futsal finals. This was due to heavy losses in their previous two matches against Japan and Tajikistan. Nevertheless, Cambodia left the tournament with their heads held high after securing 3 points against Macau.
So far, 13 out of 15 teams have qualified for the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship finals in Indonesia. This includes 7 of the 8 group winners and 6 of the 7 best runners-up, as Group D involving Iraq, host Saudi Arabia, Chinese Taipei, and Pakistan has yet to be played.
Australia (Group A), Thailand (Group B), four-time champions Japan (Group C), Vietnam (Group E), Kyrgyzstan (Group F), reigning and 13-time champions Iran (Group G), and Afghanistan (Group H) will all participate in the Asian futsal finals as well as the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in Indonesia.
Seven more spots are available for the best runners-up across eight groups, including six teams already qualified: Kuwait (Group A), South Korea (Group B), Tajikistan (Group C), Lebanon (Group E), Uzbekistan (Group F), and Malaysia (Group G). Southeast Asia could have an additional representative in Myanmar if their results in Group D surpass the runner-up from that group, and vice versa.
