The possibility of Harry Kane returning to the Premier League is now clear.

Harry Kane’s future has become a hot topic across Europe, with ongoing rumors about a potential return to Tottenham in the summer of 2026.

In this context, Bayern Munich’s sporting director Max Eberl has officially spoken out, notably without denying the existence of a clause that would allow Kane to leave Allianz Arena for a “reasonable” fee next year.

Speaking to Bild, Eberl said: “He is mature enough to make his own decisions. Whether there is a clause or not, if Kane says ‘I want to decide my future,’ he will get what he wants, just like when he was at Tottenham. But our wish, of course, is to achieve success with Harry this season and beyond.”

This statement shows Bayern’s desire to keep Kane long-term, but Eberl’s avoidance of denying the release clause only fuels speculation that the 32-year-old striker could leave for less than the £100 million the Bavarians paid in 2023.

Tottenham’s current coach Thomas Frank also “added fuel to the fire” by publicly stating: “There are many Tottenham fans, myself included, who want to see Kane return. He is always welcome.” This is the first time the Danish manager has openly discussed the possibility of reuniting with the club’s former icon.

Harry Kane left Tottenham after scoring 213 Premier League goals, just 47 short of Alan Shearer’s record of 260. Having won the Bundesliga and German Super Cup might make Kane consider returning to England to break the record before it’s too late.

Some experts believe that if Kane keeps up his form and helps Bayern win more titles, the club’s management will try to retain him long-term, though Kane himself might be tempted to return to the Premier League to chase the record.
