Ho Chi Minh City is set to be the ongoing venue for matches involving the Vietnam National Team and the Vietnam U17 Women's team in the upcoming November.
On the afternoon of September 25th, at the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, a meeting was held to review and evaluate the preparations for the match between the Vietnam National Team and Nepal (at 7:30 PM on October 9, 2025), part of the final round of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers and the U17 Women's Asian qualifiers.
Attending and co-chairing the meeting were Mr. Cao Van Chong – Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, and Mr. Nguyen Van Phu – General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation. Also present were leaders from the Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation, Security, Health, Foreign Affairs Department, Becamex Football Club Joint Stock Company; the General Secretariat of the Vietnam Football Federation and related functional departments.
During the meeting, representatives from the Vietnam Football Federation’s functional departments reported on issues related to organizing the two events. Representatives from Security, Health, and the stadium in Ho Chi Minh City also presented related matters for coordination and implementation with the Vietnam Football Federation.
Mr. Cao Van Chong – Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports stated that the local organizing committee will collaborate closely with the Vietnam Football Federation to successfully host both events, helping to reinforce the reputation of Vietnamese football with the AFC.
On the morning of September 25th, representatives from the Vietnam Football Federation leadership continued meetings with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports and Thong Nhat Stadium to prepare for the match on October 14th between Nepal and Vietnam (7:30 PM) at Thong Nhat Stadium – Ho Chi Minh City.
According to the plan, early October will see the Vietnam National Team gather to prepare for two matches against Nepal at 7:30 PM on October 9 at Go Dau Stadium, Thu Dau Mot, Ho Chi Minh City, and at 7:30 PM on October 14 at Thong Nhat Stadium – Ho Chi Minh City. Immediately after the Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers match, from October 13 to 17, the U17 Women's Asian qualifiers 2026 will take place at Go Dau Stadium.
It is currently unclear whether Binh Duong Stadium will host the remaining home match for the Vietnam National Team in the Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers. The match scheduled for March 2026 against Malaysia will be critically important, directly impacting Vietnam's chances of qualifying for the 2027 Asian Cup final tournament.
