The timing for Ruben Amorim's departure from Manchester United has been revealed.

The timing for coach Ruben Amorim to part ways with Manchester United has been disclosed following a run of lackluster results.

Ruben Amorim’s future at Manchester United has become a hot topic as pressure mounts, despite the 2-1 victory over Chelsea last weekend that somewhat eased the criticism. Several sources indicate that the club’s management has started considering replacements, with Oliver Glasner of Crystal Palace seen as the leading candidate.

Former goalkeeper Ben Foster even stated that Amorim’s exit from Old Trafford is only a matter of time.

“He probably has just a few months left. Once the team experiences 3-4 consecutive losses, the management’s patience will run out. I don’t see cohesion in Manchester United’s style of play. Glasner might be a better fit for this role,” Foster said on his personal podcast.

After the worst start since the 1992-93 season, Amorim’s Manchester United has shown inconsistency both in tactics and results. Even after securing 3 points against Chelsea at Old Trafford, experts remain doubtful about the Portuguese coach’s ability to turn things around.

Oliver Glasner currently has only 9 months remaining on his contract at Crystal Palace. Despite losing five key players during the summer transfer window, the Austrian coach has led Palace to an impressive start, currently ranking 5th in the Premier League. Foster believes this is proof of Glasner’s organizational and managerial skills.

However, the biggest challenge if Glasner takes over at Manchester United is his football philosophy. The 50-year-old coach is loyal to a three-center-back system, which fans and the club’s management have grown weary of after many past failures.

Besides Glasner, other candidates rumored to replace Amorim include Andoni Iraola (Bournemouth), Gareth Southgate (England national team), and Marco Silva (Fulham).

Amid uncertainty about his future, Amorim is also rumored to possibly return to Portugal to manage Benfica. However, this option was officially closed when Jose Mourinho, former Manchester United manager, was appointed head coach of the Lisbon club last weekend.

After the win against Chelsea, Amorim expressed his admiration for Mourinho: “He is the greatest Portuguese coach and that will never change. Without Mourinho, I wouldn’t be here either.” At the same time, he affirmed: “I am fully focused on Manchester United, and this will be the only club I commit to.”

Although he still shows determination to stay at Old Trafford, Ruben Amorim’s position has never been more fragile. With Glasner and several other names already under consideration, a coaching change at Manchester United may just be a matter of time.
