Barcelona staged a remarkable comeback to beat Real Oviedo 3-1 after falling behind early. This win not only helps them stay close to Real Madrid, trailing their fierce rival by 2 points, but also carries special meaning for coach Hansi Flick.

This is the 50th victory for the German coach since he took over Barcelona last summer. Flick needed only 67 matches across all competitions to reach this mark – the second fastest by a Barça coach in the 21st century, behind only Luis Enrique, who currently manages Paris Saint-Germain.

Remarkably, Flick surpassed the record set by Pep Guardiola, the club’s most successful coach. Guardiola took 71 matches to achieve 50 wins while managing the Camp Nou side.

To date, after 67 matches, Flick’s record stands at 50 wins, 8 draws, and 9 losses, with the team scoring 195 goals – the highest tally among clubs from Europe’s top five leagues since last season.

This accomplishment makes him the sixth Barcelona coach in the 21st century to join the "50 wins club," alongside Frank Rijkaard, Guardiola, Enrique, Ernesto Valverde, and Xavi Hernández. Including periods before 2000, only the legendary Helenio Herrera performed better, requiring 63 matches to reach 50 wins in the late 1950s.

Since Flick took charge, Barcelona has experienced a series of positive outcomes. The team won its first-ever domestic treble in history and notably secured four consecutive victories against Real Madrid last season – a feat that has only occurred once before in El Clásico history.

An interesting coincidence is that Pere Romeu, coach of Barcelona’s women’s team (Barça Femení), also reached the 50-win milestone just last weekend after a 5-0 win over Sevilla, and he started his role at the club at the same time as Flick.

Barcelona hopes that under Flick’s guidance, victories, goals, and trophies will continue to come in the near future, beginning with the target of their 51st win when facing Real Sociedad this weekend.
