The Vietnam national team is urgently preparing for two matches against Nepal.

The Vietnam national team is scheduled to gather on October 4th in Ho Chi Minh City to prepare for two matches against Nepal during the October FIFA Days in the final stage of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.

Vietnam will face Nepal in both legs in October. The first match will be on October 9th at Go Dau Stadium (Binh Duong), and the second match will be on October 14th at Thong Nhat Stadium (Ho Chi Minh City).

After the 6th round of the LPBank V-League 2025/26, the Vietnam team will regroup. This call-up list is expected to see significant changes with the inclusion of U23 players who showed impressive performances at the Southeast Asian Championship and the 2026 Asian Cup qualifiers.

The personnel experiments during the September training camp have given Coach Kim Sang Sik additional player options.

In June, Vietnam suffered a heavy 0-4 loss to Malaysia in the second match of Group F in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. Meanwhile, Laos earned a valuable 2-1 victory over Nepal.

This result allowed Malaysia to lead Group F with 6 points (goal difference +6), pushing Vietnam down to second place with 3 points (goal difference +1) after the second round.

Therefore, the two matches against Nepal are seen as the perfect opportunity for Vietnam to secure all 6 points, improve their position in the standings, and gain a psychological edge for the upcoming matches.

After the two matches against Nepal, Vietnam will visit Laos on November 18, 2025, before playing the decisive return leg against Malaysia in March 2026.

Before Coach Kim Sang-sik announced the squad, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) took necessary actions related to preparation work.

On the morning of September 25th, VFF representatives met with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports and the management board of Thong Nhat Stadium to prepare for the October 14 match between Nepal and Vietnam (7:30 pm) at Thong Nhat Stadium – Ho Chi Minh City.

The two matches against Nepal will be broadcast live on digital platforms through a collaboration between VFF and FPT Play. VFF will soon announce ticket sales plans to fans.

Nepal has chosen Thong Nhat Stadium (Ho Chi Minh City) as their home venue for the second leg against Vietnam in the final round of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. The second leg will take place on October 14, while the first leg on October 9 will be held at Go Dau Stadium (Binh Duong).
