Vietnamese overseas players are highly anticipated to shine in the V.League 2025-26 season.

The V.League 2025-26 season is witnessing a strong influx of Vietnamese overseas players, with 13 out of 14 teams (except SLNA) having at least one mixed-heritage player. Their presence not only brings fresh expertise but also boosts competitiveness, making the league more exciting.

Below is the best Vietnamese overseas lineup of this season as selected by VTV Sports.

Goalkeeper: Patrik Lê Giang

Patrik Lê Giang developed at the renowned MSK Zilina academy and once represented Slovakia U23. After returning to Vietnam, he has played three seasons for Ho Chi Minh City Police Club (formerly Ho Chi Minh City FC).

The 1.88m tall keeper is a key player for the team from the city named after Uncle Ho. In the 2023/24 season, he was honored as the best goalkeeper in V.League, playing 25 matches for Ho Chi Minh City Police and conceding only 26 goals, averaging 1.04 goals per game. This season, Patrik Lê Giang is helping his club soar to 3rd place in the standings.

Currently, Ho Chi Minh City Police Club is processing his naturalization. If all goes well, he is likely to be called up by coach Kim Sang Sik to the Vietnam national team, especially as goalkeepers like Filip Nguyễn and Đình Triệu are underperforming.
