Vietnam National Team sets the date for gathering to prepare for two matches against Nepal

The Vietnam National Team will convene starting October 4th to focus on the two upcoming matches against Nepal in the 2027 Asian Cup qualification round.

On October 9th and 14th, the Vietnam National Team will face Nepal in two crucial matches within Group F of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. These matches will be held at Binh Duong Stadium and Thong Nhat Stadium respectively.

To prepare for these important games, the Vietnam National Team will gather from October 4th. Specifically, right after the sixth round of the V-League concludes on October 3rd, the players called up by Coach Kim Sang Sik will assemble in Ho Chi Minh City. It is expected that the Korean coach will announce the squad after the fifth round ends this weekend.

Previously, during the FIFA Days in September, the Vietnam National Team gathered in Hanoi under the guidance of Coach Dinh Hong Vinh. During this period, the team did not play international friendlies but held two trial matches against Thep Xanh Nam Dinh Club (lost 0-4) and CAHN Club (won 4-3).

Ahead of the FIFA Days in October, Coach Kim Sang Sik received good news as the players are currently in excellent form. In the most recent round, forwards Tien Linh, Tuan Hai, and Hoang Duc all scored for their clubs. Additionally, U23 Vietnamese players such as Van Khang, Van Thuan, and Viktor Le have also shined.

On the other hand, some key players have suffered injuries and are likely to miss the upcoming training camp. These include Quang Hai, Bui Hoang Viet Anh, Thanh Binh... The group of injured players like Van Toan, Xuan Son, Ho Tan Tai, and Doan Ngoc Tan have yet to return to competition.

Nevertheless, against Nepal (currently ranked 176th in the world), whose squad quality and skill level are not very high, the Korean strategist does not need to worry too much. It is likely that in the upcoming camp, he will give young players a chance to prove themselves.
