According to confirmation from coach Ruben Amorim, MU will not have Amad Diallo available for the game against Brentford in the 6th round of the 2025/26 Premier League because the player must return to Ivory Coast for a family bereavement.
As scheduled, MU will travel to Brentford’s Gtech Community Stadium, but Ruben Amorim will be missing key players. The latest absence is Amad Diallo, who has just suffered a family loss. Therefore, the Red Devils have allowed the Ivorian midfielder to skip the match against the "Bees" to fully focus on his family matters.
Coach Ruben Amorim personally shared detailed information about MU’s squad ahead of the Brentford match: “Lisandro Martinez will be absent. Casemiro is also suspended and cannot play. Amad Diallo will not be present either. He is not injured, but a family member of Diallo has passed away, so we will provide full support to him. The important thing is he needs time to go home and be with his family."
Last August, Amad Diallo’s mother-in-law, whom he deeply loved and cherished, passed away just before the Premier League match against Brighton. Despite that, the 23-year-old star insisted on playing, but this time is different.
Before flying back to Ivory Coast, Diallo was heavily criticized by MU fans for swapping shirts with former teammate Alejandro Garnacho during the win over Chelsea last weekend. To protect his player, coach Amorim advised everyone to stay away from social media: “It’s best not to use social media. If you do, just close your accounts. Nowadays, this is the price of fame. We are always with Amad. We will try to win for him.”
Following the coach’s advice, Diallo temporarily deactivated his account. Besides Amad Diallo, Noussair Mazraoui will also be sidelined due to injury. On the upside, MU welcomed back Diogo Dalot. Most likely, Dalot will take over the right flank for MU against Brentford, while in midfield, with Casemiro absent, Mainoo will start alongside Bruno Fernandes.
