Manchester United will travel to Brentford for the early kickoff on Saturday, with coach Rúben Amorim set to be without four players, including Casemiro who is suspended after a red card, injured Mazraoui and Lisandro Martínez, and Amad Diallo who is temporarily away due to a family loss.

The injuries to Lima and Casemiro were pre-established facts. Amad was granted leave due to a family tragedy, while Mazraoui got injured during training this week and won’t return until after the international break next month. Fortunately, Diogo Dalot has recovered in time to fill the right-back position, having missed the last two matches due to injury.
Manchester United's manager Rúben Amorim said: "Lima is still unavailable, Casemiro cannot play due to his red card, and Amad (Diallo) is also not here. Mazraoui won’t be able to participate until at least after the international break."
The €40 million winger Amad has recently faced many challenges; in the previous match, he was jeered by fans for publicly exchanging shirts with Chelsea’s Garnacho amid transfer rumors, and now he is dealing with off-field issues.
Amorim stated: "I have told my players the same thing—to stay away from social media. This is the reality we have to accept. What matters most is that for Amad, the club and his close friends are his real support system. We will always stand by him. He is going through a difficult time due to a family loss, and we understand he needs to be with his family. The club fully supports him, and the next game is secondary. Even without Amad, we can still win, and we want to do so for him."
Besides the right flank, Amorim must also decide who will replace Casemiro in central midfield. Captain Bruno Fernandes is guaranteed one spot, while Ugarte, Cody Gakpo, and even Mason Mount will compete to partner him.
After defeating Chelsea at home last round, if Manchester United can beat another West London team, it will be their first back-to-back Premier League wins under Amorim. United has been unable to win consecutive league matches for over a year. In January, Amorim led the team to three straight wins in the Europa League against Glasgow Rangers and Bucharest, and in the Premier League against Fulham, but a 0-2 loss to Crystal Palace prevented a league winning streak.

The Manchester United coach said the team’s performance is indeed unpredictable. "Fans don’t know how the next game will unfold, and that’s normal. Honestly, my philosophy is clear, but I can’t predict how well it will be executed. The best way to handle this is to treat every match as if it’s the last one, without thinking about the next two games. The number of games this season isn’t very high, so each match is crucial. I completely understand the fans’ feelings."
Amorim admitted he was very fearful last year because he worried the team would inevitably lose, but now things are different. "Now the situation is completely different. I have always believed we can win the next match and dominate. I still feel that way." Amorim said, "Sometimes, small details reflect urgency. If you compare Manchester United’s performance with Chelsea and Manchester City, the difference is huge. I can’t predict what will happen next, but the current feeling is definitely different."
He added: "Looking at the players, I believe even against strong teams like Manchester City and Arsenal, we are fully capable of scoring, gaining the upper hand, and controlling the rhythm at key moments. This feeling is completely different from last season. No need to worry, I know it will be tough, but this year brings more excitement than fear!"
Amorim urges Manchester United to capitalize on the momentum from beating Chelsea and achieve further positive results. "If our team can’t seize the current situation, it will be a big problem. Anything can happen in a match, especially in the Premier League. Every game is like this; the atmosphere in the first few minutes is very important. Since the first training, we have emphasized this. We must understand the club’s current state and win the next game. The responsibility to change things lies with us. We must do everything possible and win the next match."
Regarding Manchester United’s current situation, Amorim commented: "I don’t want to say we are playing very well, but I think we have done quite well. I understand the fans’ feelings, so from now on, let’s turn their expectations into urgency, give everything on the pitch, and accomplish what we should."
In this match, Manchester United’s £71 million new signing Mbemou will face his former club. Amorim said: "He is important and plays a positive role in the locker room. Although he doesn’t talk much, he always supports us through his actions. His running and tackling are very strong, and he is different from last season. I am satisfied with his performance. This is why we recruit Premier League players; although their transfer fees are high, the risk is lower because they have maintained good performances for years."
