MU will not have Amad Diallo available for their trip to Brentford on Saturday. The Ivorian midfielder was given special leave by coach Ruben Amorim following a death in his family.
At the press briefing, Amorim confirmed Diallo’s absence along with Casemiro—who is suspended for one match due to a red card received in the victory over Chelsea—and the injured players Noussair Mazraoui and Lisandro Martinez.
"Licha can’t play, Casemiro is out as well. Amad has to stay home due to a family bereavement. We respect and fully support him. Mazraoui will only return after the international break. The rest of the team is ready," he stated.
Diallo is facing a family tragedy.
According to sources, Diallo remains in Manchester rather than returning to Ivory Coast. Previously, the 23-year-old deleted all his Instagram posts after being criticized for sharing a photo with Alejandro Garnacho—a former MU player who recently moved to Chelsea for £40 million. Garnacho also faced negative reactions from Old Trafford supporters when he came back to the "Theatre of Dreams" wearing Chelsea’s jersey.
Coach Amorim spoke out in defense of his player: "I always advise players to limit social media due to unnecessary pressure. What truly matters is the club and teammates—that’s the real value for Amad. This is a very difficult time, and the upcoming match is less important than the support he receives. We can win without Amad, but we also want to win for Amad."
MU fans have collectively sent messages of support to Diallo and praised the club for their compassionate approach, placing feelings and empathy above the match outcome.
