Brenner’s goal that increased the score to 2-0 was selected as one of the most beautiful goals in the first round of ACL Two.
Ahead of the second matchday of the AFC Champions League Two group stage, the Asian Football Confederation nominated eight best goals from the opening round, including Brenner’s strike for Thep Xanh Nam Dinh against Ratchaburi FC (Thailand) on September 17.
Brenner’s goal came in the 52nd minute, “Thep Xanh Nam Dinh’s striker slipped past the central defenders, almost invisible to the opposing defenders. The Brazilian player didn’t need a second touch as he unleashed a powerful right-footed shot into the top corner near the post. A composed strike that lit up Thien Truong Stadium, giving the 1994-born forward an impressive opening goal,” AFC praised the Brazilian striker’s goal with many flattering words.
Notably, just five minutes later, Brenner scored again to seal a 3-1 victory for the home team, completing a brace on his continental debut. With this result, Nam Dinh earned 3 points and temporarily sits second in the group, behind Japan’s Gamba Osaka.
On October 2, the Nam Dinh team will visit Eastern Sports Club (Hong Kong, China), currently at the bottom of the group. This presents a good opportunity for coach Vu Hong Viet’s squad to gain another 3 points and secure an advantage in the race to advance.
