Ruben Amorim is under increasing pressure after the 1-3 loss to Brentford, a performance likened to soulless system football, similar to "a robot with a cold taking a walk."
The match at Gtech Community Stadium featured a dramatic story, especially the penalty in the 76th minute. Bruno Fernandes, MU’s captain, took the penalty after Nathan Collins fouled Bryan Mbeumo inside the box.
However, the VAR decision was controversial, ruling that the foul was insufficient to be considered a clear denial of a goal-scoring chance, resulting in Collins receiving only a yellow card. While waiting through a three-minute VAR review, Fernandes also faced interruption from assistant Keith Andrews’ double substitutions. His penalty kick was weak and saved by goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, marking another failure for MU.
This was Fernandes’ second missed penalty in West London, following a similar incident at Fulham a month earlier, when he angrily kicked the ball into the crowd after a referee clash.
