Nam Dinh's coach admits a deserved defeat against CAHN

Coach Vu Hong Viet acknowledges a fair defeat against CAHN while emphasizing that the team remains in contention to retain the V-League championship.

The defending champions Nam Dinh continue to struggle with inconsistent form. Returning to the V-League after their victory in the ASEAN Club Championship, the Nam Dinh team suffered another loss against a strong opponent, CAHN. This marks Nam Dinh’s third defeat in six rounds of the V-League and their second consecutive loss to CAHN.

After the match, Coach Vu Hong Viet confirmed that the team still has the opportunity to defend their title and admitted that the defeat to CAHN was deserved.

“Honestly, today Nam Dinh’s players did not perform well, failing to control the game and losing possession frequently. This loss is fair because we allowed the opponent too much freedom to attack.

Nam Dinh’s chances remain alive. We need to strategize and improve on our weaknesses. Competing on multiple fronts is a major challenge, as we only have two days to prepare between matches.”

Additionally, Coach Vu Hong Viet praised striker Percy Tau and suggested he might start more games in the upcoming matches.

“Percy Tau was the only bright spot in this match. When he came on, our attacking play became sharper.

In recent matches, due to some players being injured, I often had to keep Percy Tau on the bench. Moving forward, I will definitely reconsider and use him more frequently.”

Next week, Nam Dinh will continue competing in the AFC Champions League Two. Their opponent is Eastern Sports Club from Hong Kong, considered the weakest team in the group, so the clear objective is to secure 3 points.
