Goalkeeper Đặng Văn Lâm is recommended to return to the Vietnam national team.

Hoàng Đức is optimistic that Văn Lâm will make a quick comeback to the Vietnam national team following his outstanding displays in recent times.

After the 2-2 draw against Hải Phòng Club, captain Nguyễn Hoàng Đức praised goalkeeper Đặng Văn Lâm extensively:

"Since the start of the season, Lâm has played very well, making numerous crucial saves for the team. The entire squad has great confidence in Văn Lâm. Hopefully, he will maintain his form in the upcoming matches."

After 5 rounds, Văn Lâm has conceded only 4 goals. Particularly notable was his performance in the 2-0 victory over Thép Xanh Nam Định, where the Vietnamese-Russian keeper impressed and earned high praise from head coach Gerard Albadalejo and coach Vũ Hồng Việt.

Based on his current form, Hoàng Đức also hopes that his senior teammate will be included in the next national team call-up: "Đức really hopes that in the upcoming call-up, Văn Lâm will be named in the Vietnam national team roster."

The last time the Vietnamese-Russian goalkeeper was called up was at the end of 2024 when he went to South Korea for training with the Vietnam team. However, just before the AFF Cup, Văn Lâm got injured and had to withdraw early. Since then, he has not been included in coach Kim Sang Sik’s squad.

Regarding the match between Ninh Bình and Hải Phòng, Hoàng Đức commented: "The team started cautiously and scored early but allowed Hải Phòng to equalize. The second half was similar. I think it was a good match from both sides, entertaining for the viewers.

Ninh Bình created many chances but the strikers were unlucky. Both teams have their strengths and weaknesses, and moving forward, we will work on improving for the next matches."

In the next round, Hoàng Đức will face his former club Thể Công Viettel for the first time since leaving. About the upcoming match, he said: "Right now, I haven’t thought about that game yet, but soon, the whole team and I will review and learn from it."
