Has Ninh Bình FC reached its limit?

Ninh Bình lost points in the final moments at Lạch Tray. This is the first time this season the ancient capital team has failed to achieve a perfect points tally. What does this indicate? A limit.

Football history proves that no team is without flaws. Ninh Bình’s attack had scored 12 goals before the fifth matchday, while their defense had conceded only 2. Theoretically, Ninh Bình’s system was flawless, but in practice, this was not the case.

Ninh Bình’s defense, except for goalkeeper Đặng Văn Lâm, is quite weak. The two wide players, Thanh Thịnh and Ngọc Hà, prefer offense over defense. The central defenders, including the foreign player, are only of average ability.

However, a few dropped points for Ninh Bình are not a strategic issue. No V-League competition can be decided after just one or two matches.

Yesterday (September 28), Ninh Bình lost, but CAHN won, which seemed unrelated. Both clubs have equal points, but CAHN ranks lower due to an inferior tiebreaker.

Back to the events of round 6 in the 2025/2026 V-League, Hà Nội FC earned their first victory of the season, while CA TP.HCM continued their good form with a win at Vinh against SLNA. However, SHB Đà Nẵng’s victory at Gò Đậu was the biggest surprise for spectators. In reality, B.TP.HCM is no longer as strong as before, and it appears coach Anh Đức is losing the players’ support.

As predicted by Thể thao & Văn hóa before the season, SLNA, newcomer PVF CAND, Thanh Hóa, HAGL, and SHB Đà Nẵng will compete for the last two relegation spots. Among them, Thanh Hóa and HAGL are considered the weakest. Now B.TP.HCM joins them. So far, the situation remains unchanged, with HAGL still very weak and Thanh Hóa... out of funds.

Basically, this V-League season will remain very unpredictable until the final rounds. There is no doubt about which team will win the championship. The candidate Ninh Bình might change their coach after the FIFA Days in October, even though they remain unbeaten. The same applies to Nam Định and B.TP.HCM.

In the 26-year history of the V-League, only coach Lê Huỳnh Đức has led a club for over 10 years; there are no other exceptions. The late coach Lê Thuỵ Hải, or coaches Calisto, Phan Thanh Hùng, Chu Đình Nghiêm... all achieved great success but could not stay long-term. Vietnamese club football requires constant rotation to produce results.
