Manchester United firmly insists that Amroli will not be dismissed this season! Three top new coaching candidates revealed, Xavi willing to take charge immediately.

Following the 1-3 loss to Brentford, Manchester United’s manager Rúben Amroli expressed no concern about his job security. Yet, the hopeful mood sparked by last week’s win against Chelsea has faded, mirroring the Red Devils’ recent habitual ups and downs. When supporters think the team is improving, they end up right where they started.

The BBC reported that despite the disheartening defeat, Manchester United still supports their coach. Sources reveal that Sir Jim Ratcliffe strongly backs Amroli, believing a fair assessment of his performance can only be made after he leads a squad he assembled through a full season.

There have been ongoing rumors about potential replacements for Amroli at Manchester United, but the club has repeatedly denied these claims, emphasizing that no candidates have been identified since Sir Jim has no intention of changing the manager. Amroli was Sir Jim’s first choice as head coach, and he wants to give him the fullest opportunity, which is understandable.

Nonetheless, if the team’s inconsistent results persist, rumors will inevitably continue, especially if they fail to beat the in-form newly promoted Sunderland at home this Saturday, which would increase pressure on Amroli.

After spending over £200 million on new signings, Amroli has yet to show clear progress this season. "I never worry about my job; I’m not the type to stress over work," Amroli claimed after the match. But who still believes him? At the end of last season, the 40-year-old Portuguese coach promised better days ahead; before the Brentford match, he confidently said he was no longer concerned about losing.

Manchester United have no European fixtures midweek, so all attention will focus on Amroli’s job status. One of the main criticisms against him is his stubbornness, which could be a fatal flaw. Insisting on a 3-4-3 formation and forcing Bruno Fernandes to play midfield is baffling.

Brentford’s coach, Keith Andrews, in his first season, has shown greater tactical flexibility than Amroli. Against Fulham last week, Andrews started with three center-backs but switched to a back four, a system he also used against Manchester United. He explained that this change provided a more stable defensive base in midfield while increasing the team’s tactical adaptability.

In contrast, Amroli said he had studied Brentford’s tactics before the match, expecting them to pack the midfield and play long balls for forwards to run behind the center-backs. Yet, when facing the anticipated attack, Manchester United was helpless: Maguire’s mistaken offside trap, Diogo Dalot’s unusual defensive positioning, and De Ligt’s poor marking were all disastrous.

According to English media, if Amroli is sacked, two of the new managerial candidates are clear favorites: Crystal Palace’s Oliver Glasner and Bournemouth’s Antony Illarra, both of whom have contracts expiring at the end of this season. The third candidate is less certain, with former England coach Southgate and Brighton’s Fabian Helzel among those supported. Club insiders acknowledge these possibilities.

It is said that if a coaching change occurs, Sir Jim will continue prioritizing managers proven in the Premier League, which works against Southgate since his last managerial role was at Middlesbrough in 2009, where he was relegated. Southgate has indicated he might not return to coaching, and his friend, Manchester United director Sir Dave Brailsford, no longer appears at the club this year.

Reports suggest former Barcelona coach Xavi is also eager to manage Manchester United, although the club has not shown any interest so far. Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Saudi Pro League’s Al-Ittihad Jeddah approached Xavi, but Xavi prefers to move to the Premier League.

Romano stated: "Al-Ittihad Jeddah is considering hiring Xavi, but there’s no concrete progress yet. He is indeed one of the candidates. I’ve received many inquiries about Xavi and Manchester United. Xavi is studying and following the Premier League closely; he’s willing to join United immediately, even without European football. He can start in the Premier League right away. So he desires a chance in the Premier League, but currently, there’s no advancement."
