Barcelona is considering Karim Adeyemi as a long-term replacement option for Robert Lewandowski.
Once again, Barcelona turns its attention to the Bundesliga, with Karim Adeyemi, the young forward from Borussia Dortmund, entering their transfer radar. According to Fichajes, sporting director Deco views the German player as a strong candidate to boost attacking power and potentially take over from Robert Lewandowski in the near future.
Adeyemi has impressed at Dortmund with his explosive speed, dribbling skills, and versatility across multiple roles: central striker, left winger, or right winger. Barcelona sees him as a player capable of making an immediate impact while bringing fresh energy to an attack heavily reliant on Lewandowski.
Although Lewandowski continues to perform consistently, Camp Nou’s management understands that the 37-year-old Polish striker cannot sustain top-level form for much longer. Therefore, finding a successor has become a top priority, and Adeyemi is regarded as a promising candidate to shoulder this responsibility.
The biggest obstacle is the transfer fee. Borussia Dortmund is unwilling to let their star go for less than 80 million euros, a figure far beyond Barcelona’s current financial capacity. Under ongoing financial supervision from LaLiga, Barca must consider more creative solutions.
At Dortmund, Adeyemi has become a key player, frequently shining in crucial matches, most recently scoring to help the Ruhr club defeat Mainz. The 23-year-old also has Champions League experience, which makes Barca confident he can compete immediately upon arriving at Camp Nou.
Adeyemi’s contract with Dortmund runs until 2027, strengthening the German club’s negotiating position. However, for Barcelona, acquiring a striker who is both young and internationally experienced is a vital step in preparing for the “post-Lewandowski” era.
If successful in signing Adeyemi, Barcelona would not only gain a formidable offensive weapon but also gradually find a worthy successor to Lewandowski, a symbol of Camp Nou over recent years.
