After Châu Ngọc Quang suffered a serious injury, many on social media remarked: "It's another HAGL player."
This comment is not without foundation, as many HAGL players have previously suffered major injuries. Some have even been forced to retire early, despite their youth.
This reflects the club’s medical problems, involving a "miracle doctor" whose identity is best left unmentioned regardless of his fame. This doctor once served as the national team physician during the "golden generation," known for his skill in immediate pain relief to enable players to return to matches quickly. At a time when Vietnamese sports medicine was still developing, such doctors were considered heroes. They were the top specialists in Vietnamese sports medicine. But...
Being pioneers with many successes, they also faced considerable risks. Yet, it seems this "miracle doctor" still uses methods from 30 years ago: over-reliance on painkillers and plasma injections.

This has caused many players here to never reach their peak performance, some even forced into early retirement, while some foreign players live in fear for life.
Injuries or misfortunes in sports are unwanted but inevitable. However, everything has its cause. The root of injuries is entering competition with an unhealthy body, made worse by rushed, unscientific treatment.
Players from the HAGL Arsenal JMG Academy, with their training model, are the dream of many coaches. Yet, their problem lies in injuries. And the reasons behind this need no further discussion.
Châu Ngọc Quang will be out until the end of 2025
According to initial diagnosis, Châu Ngọc Quang suffered a rupture of the right knee ligament and registered for surgery in Ho Chi Minh City on October 2nd. The midfielder is expected to be sidelined for about 7-8 months, meaning he will miss the chance to return for the 2025/26 V-League season.
Ngọc Quang was injured during the match between Hải Phòng and Ninh Bình in the 5th round of the 2025/26 V-League held at Lạch Tray Stadium on September 28th. In the incident causing the injury, Ngọc Quang fell while running without any contact and had to be stretchered off after only 15 minutes of play.
Born in 1996, Châu Ngọc Quang was a member of Vietnam’s U23 team at the 2018 AFC U23 Championship. He made his debut for the Vietnam national team in 2022 under coach Park Hang Seo but was absent when Philippe Troussier took over.
When Kim Sang Sik was appointed head coach of the Vietnam national team, Ngọc Quang was recalled and became a trusted player, especially during the 2024 ASEAN Cup. Due to this injury, Ngọc Quang will definitely be out of the national team until the end of the third round of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, expected in March 2026. Before the injury, Ngọc Quang was a key player for Ninh Bình FC.
