The Nepal team will have just a single day to get accustomed and ready for the game against Vietnam on October 9th.
In October, Nepal will play two matches against Vietnam as part of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. Both matches will be held in Vietnam, at Binh Duong Stadium and Thong Nhat Stadium respectively. According to the plan, Coach Kim Sang Sik’s squad will gather in Ho Chi Minh City on October 4th to prepare for these games.
Meanwhile, Nepal will face a very tight schedule before their first match on October 9th. Specifically, according to information from the VFF, the Nepal team will arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 19:55 on October 7th, on flight AI388. This means they will have only one day, October 8th, to adapt and train under the weather and field conditions in Binh Duong. This will also pose a considerable physical challenge for the visiting team.
Before traveling to Vietnam for the matches, Nepal had already announced their squad for the two upcoming games. Most of their players are currently active in domestic leagues, with some young talents included as well.
On Vietnam’s side, Coach Kim Sang Sik is prioritizing giving opportunities to U23 players in this camp, including eight familiar names: Dinh Bac, Thanh Nhan, Van Khang, Xuan Bac, Phi Hoang, Hieu Minh, Nhat Minh, and Trung Kien. Additionally, forward Pham Gia Hung, born in 2000, has also been called up.
Nepal is not considered a very strong opponent for Coach Kim Sang Sik’s team, as they rank 62 places below Vietnam in the FIFA rankings. The host team aims to secure the maximum 6 points from the two upcoming matches.
