Odegaard exclaimed something about the quality of Arsenal's players

Odegaard expressed his views following Arsenal's 2-0 win against Olympiacos in the Champions League group stage.

Arsenal continued to demonstrate their strength in the Champions League with a 2-0 win over Olympiacos at the Emirates Stadium, with the spotlight on captain Martin Odegaard's brilliant performance. Returning from a shoulder injury, the Norwegian midfielder not only played a key role in both goals but also openly acknowledged that the squad's depth motivated him and his teammates to perform explosively.

After the match, Odegaard spoke to TNT Sports: “The quality and depth of the current squad are very strong, which pushes every player to work harder. Everyone wants to prove they deserve their spot, and that competition creates great motivation for the whole team.”

Starting for the first time after five matches, Odegaard immediately made an impact. In the 35th minute, from his incisive pass that split the defense, Viktor Gyokeres sprinted forward to face the goalkeeper before crossing for Gabriel Martinelli to score from close range and open the scoring. Then, in the 90+2 minute, Odegaard delivered the decisive pass for Bukayo Saka to seal the victory. Two assists in one game highlighted the irreplaceable playmaking role of Arsenal’s captain.

In fact, coach Mikel Arteta made six changes to the starting lineup compared to the Newcastle match, resting key players like Saka, Eberechi Eze, and Declan Rice. Nevertheless, Arsenal maintained dominance over Olympiacos. This demonstrated the collective strength and squad depth that Arteta currently has at his disposal.

Although recently recovered, Odegaard played energetically in the number 10 role, delivering numerous sharp passes through the lines.
