Rasmus Hojlund recently dazzled with a brace that helped Napoli defeat Sporting Lisbon — Ruben Amorim’s former club — 2-1. The striker, loaned from Man United, received special acclaim from the Italian media.
Previously, his stint at Manchester United did not bring much happiness to the Danish striker. He had scored 9 goals in 32 Serie A appearances for Atalanta before moving to the Premier League. However, after a disappointing season at Old Trafford, Hojlund was allowed to leave on loan as Man United had just signed three new attacking players: Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo.
Hojlund’s new club is Napoli, where he reunited with former teammate Scott McTominay. Last season, McTominay played a crucial role in helping the southern club win their fourth Scudetto. The English midfielder was even named Serie A’s Most Valuable Player last season and is now a favorite among Italian fans.
