The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has not yet filed an appeal with FIFA even though the deadline is only 10 days.
The latest announcement on the official website of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) states: "The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) would like to inform that currently there are no new developments regarding the suspension decision from the International Football Federation (FIFA).
FAM is still awaiting the complete judgment documents from FIFA. The appeal process will only begin after receiving all the judgment documents. Regarding this matter, FAM will not make any statements or provide updates until the appeal process is concluded," said Mr. Noor Azman HJ Rahman, Secretary General of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM).
It is known that the organization has not officially submitted an appeal to the World Football Association (FIFA): "We held a meeting yesterday to inform members of the FAM Executive Committee (EC) about the situation we are currently facing. The EC members are the first to be informed of any actions taken by FAM.
We also discussed measures to handle the current situation. FAM has not yet filed an appeal. We are waiting for the official ruling letter from FIFA and the letter from the FIFA Football Court. After receiving these documents, FAM will base its appeal on them," disclosed Acting FAM President Datuk Yusoff Mahadi to the local press.
Previously, FIFA’s Disciplinary Committee gave the Football Association of Malaysia a 10-day period starting from September 26 to appeal concerning seven players suspected of falsifying naturalization documents, including Joao Figueiredo, Jon Irazabal, Hector Hevel, Imanol Machuca, Gabriel Palmero, Facundo Garces, and Rodrigo Holgado.
On September 28, the Football Association of Malaysia admitted there was a "technical error" in submitting the dossiers of these seven players to FIFA but firmly stated that they are all legitimate Malaysian citizens. However, they have not publicly released the players’ documents yet.
