Malaysian fans are outraged as their team receives a severe penalty from FIFA

Malaysian fans have voiced strong demands for FAM and authorities to be transparent regarding the punishment of 7 naturalized players by FIFA.

The issue of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) and 7 Malaysian naturalized players being penalized by FIFA over alleged document fraud continues to draw public attention. Recently, the dedicated supporters group Ultras Malaya officially spoke out, urging all involved parties to be transparent and provide clear answers to the public.

In a statement posted on social media, Ultras Malaya expressed their anger over the consequences of this incident. They believe that Malaysia’s football reputation has been severely damaged due to the national team repeatedly being linked to an international scandal.

“Four days have passed, and Malaysia’s football honor has been tarnished on the international stage. We demand that those responsible clearly explain what truly happened,” the group declared.

Ultras Malaya also called on the authorities to clarify the naturalization process of the involved players. They questioned whether the legal documents and procedures were properly handled during the approval of these 7 players’ citizenship.

Regarding FAM, this loyal fan group demands a detailed explanation about the so-called “technical error” during the submission of documents to FIFA. According to Ultras Malaya, this negligence not only led to player suspensions but also damaged Malaysia’s football image internationally.

They also urge the national team to publicly disclose the backgrounds and origins of the players to end speculation and division within the fan community. “Clarifying this matter is necessary to stop rumors and help restore Malaysia’s football image. Currently, fans and the public are divided due to unclear information,” Ultras Malaya emphasized.

Despite expressing anger at FAM’s “technical mistake,” Ultras Malaya fully supports the appeal effort to FIFA. They see this as an essential step to protect the nation’s honor and the interests of Malaysian football. “We will hold FAM accountable later, but right now, the most important thing is to win the appeal,” the group stressed.

As the Malaysian national team prepares for Asian Cup qualifying matches against Laos on October 9 and 14, fan pressure is mounting. If FAM fails to provide a satisfactory explanation, the trust crisis between fans and national football could worsen.
