Another reason why Indonesia could secure a spot in the World Cup

The Indonesian team got very positive news with Ole Romeny almost fully healed from his injury before the 4th stage of World Cup qualifying.

The Indonesian national team was delighted to hear before the 2026 World Cup fourth qualifying round that their key striker Ole Romeny is almost completely recovered from injury. According to the team manager, Mr. Sumardji, the Oxford United forward has reached about 95% fitness and is likely to be ready to participate in the crucial upcoming matches.

“Ole Romeny is recovering very well. He is currently at 95%, just a bit more to reach his peak condition. Hopefully, by match day, Ole will be at 100%,” said Mr. Sumardji.

Previously, Romeny suffered an ankle injury during the 2025 President's Cup pre-season tournament while representing Oxford United. The 25-year-old striker, who has experience playing in the Eredivisie with FC Utrecht, underwent a strict rehabilitation and training program under close supervision of medical staff and fitness coaches.

Romeny’s comeback is considered extremely important for the Indonesian team. In the third round of 2026 World Cup qualifiers, he scored 3 goals in 4 appearances, becoming Indonesia’s most effective scorer. His most significant contribution was scoring crucial goals that helped Indonesia secure key points to advance to the decisive stage.

Given the tough competition expected in the 4th qualifying round, especially facing top Asian teams like Saudi Arabia and Iraq, Romeny’s presence will provide coach Patrick Kluivert with more attacking options.
