Đức Chiến: 'I feel happy and delighted to have scored a goal'

Đức Chiến expressed his official comments regarding the celebration following his goal against his old club Thể Công Viettel.

In the 1-1 draw between Ninh Bình FC and Thể Công Viettel on the evening of October 2nd, midfielder Nguyễn Đức Chiến attracted attention with his celebration after scoring against his former team. After the match, he also shared some notable remarks. He said:

"My feelings were quite normal, just like in any other match. But it was truly regrettable that our team had the advantage of playing with one extra player for most of the game yet couldn’t secure the three points."

"I am very happy and thrilled to have scored for my team. For me, today’s celebration was the greatest sign of respect I could show to both teams. The past cannot be changed. The future is unpredictable. But right now, I am a player of Ninh Bình FC. I enjoy that. I scored and I’m happy about it.", Đức Chiến added regarding his celebration.

Although playing with a numerical advantage for two-thirds of the match, Ninh Bình could not hold onto the full three points. Commenting on this, the player born in 1998 stated:

"We were overwhelmed by the spirit of the Thể Công Viettel players. Even though we scored early and had a man advantage, we made a mistake by retreating and giving the opponent space. Thể Công Viettel is indeed still a very strong team."

"For me, football has wins and losses. We can never predict outcomes. Ninh Bình is a newcomer and we approached the game as underdogs, not as a top team. So sharing points with a strong team like Thể Công Viettel isn’t too bad,"he concluded.
