Minh Vương’s double strike led Dong Nai to a 4-1 win against Phu Tho Club in the third round of the First Division.
On the evening of October 3rd, Truong Tuoi Dong Nai Club delivered an impressive performance at home by defeating Phu Tho 4-1. With Cong Phuong still absent due to injury, his former teammate at HAGL, Tran Minh Vuong, shone brightest by scoring a beautiful brace.
The match was fairly balanced in the early minutes, but the turning point came in the 27th minute. From a well-coordinated play, Xuan Truong delivered a clever through ball to Van Son who broke free, then crossed perfectly for Minh Vuong to calmly finish and open the scoring 1-0 for the home team.
Near the end of the first half, the home side capitalized again on a set-piece. Minh Vuong took an accurate corner kick, allowing Van Khoa to score from close range, doubling the lead to 2-0 before halftime.

In the second half, heavy rain made the pitch slippery, but it did not dampen the home team’s enthusiasm. In the 54th minute, Minh Vuong made a bold run near the penalty area, skillfully evading Phu Tho’s defender before executing a delicate chip shot to make it 3-0, completing his brace. In the 82nd minute, Phu Tho’s defense erred during an aerial challenge, the ball deflected off a visiting player’s foot into the net, extending Dong Nai’s lead to 4-0.
Just two minutes later, Phu Tho scored a consolation goal through Yago Ramos. This was the final score of the match.
This victory gave Dong Nai 7 points after 3 rounds, temporarily moving them to the top of the First Division standings. Notably, midfielder Tran Minh Vuong has become the main pillar of the home team at Binh Phuoc stadium with consistent performances in recent rounds. He has scored 3 goals in 3 matches, currently leading the top scorer chart.
