The Korean refereeing crew with chief referee Choi Hyun Jai is assigned to oversee the game between Vietnam and Nepal on October 9th.
The identities of the referees assigned to the Vietnam vs Nepal match on October 9th at Gò Đậu Stadium have recently been announced. The main referee will be Mr. Choi Hyun Jai. This Korean official began his refereeing career in 2019 and was recognized as a FIFA referee in 2020. In the recent match between Vietnam U23 and Yemen U23 on September 9th, he was also one of the officials on duty.
Supporting the main referee is a team of Korean assistant referees, including Bang Gi Yoel and Cheon Jin Hee. The fourth official is Mr. Chae Sang Hyeop. The match supervisor is Mr. Wang Xiao from China, while the referee assessor is Mr. Tang Yew Mun from Singapore.
Meanwhile, for the second leg on October 14th, the match will be officiated by Mr. Mohamed Khaled Tarrar Mohamed Deham from Bahrain. The two assistants and the fourth official will be Mohamed Salman Talasi, Abdulla Mohamed Janahi, and Khalil Saad, all from Bahrain.
To prepare for these two important matches, coach Kim Sang Sik has called up 24 players to the Vietnam national team, blending young U23 players with experienced veterans. This combination is expected to provide depth and balance to the squad, ensuring both continuity and stability in play style. This approach also reflects the team’s long-term strategy to build a new generation squad aiming for significant future goals.
The entire team will gather from October 4th in Ho Chi Minh City for training. Taking advantage of home ground, Vietnam aims to secure all 6 points from the upcoming two matches.
