Jairo missed a penalty, and the HAGL coach spoke honestly after five winless matches.

Coach Lê Quang Trãi lamented HAGL’s failure to hold on to 3 points at home versus SLNA.

On the evening of October 3rd at their home ground, HAGL suffered a disappointing draw against SLNA, leaving them still without a win this season. After Minh Tâm scored early in the 7th minute, HAGL focused and consistently neutralized the opponent’s dangerous attacks. In the second half, SLNA pushed forward and equalized in the 69th minute thanks to veteran player Olaha.

In the final minutes, the home team showed determination and had a chance to take the lead after Gia Bảo was fouled inside the penalty area, resulting in a penalty kick. However, from the spot, Jairo sent the ball over the bar, much to the team's disappointment.

After the match, Coach Lê Quang Trãi shared his thoughts: "My feeling about this game can be summed up in one word: regret. We had a great opportunity to earn all 3 points but let them slip away."

Regarding the Brazilian foreign player’s penalty miss, the coach added: "At HAGL, Jairo is always the first choice for penalties. He has successfully converted many before, but today, due to rain, slippery ground, wet ball, and soft turf, he failed to score. It’s unfortunate. After the game, I shook his hand and encouraged him because missing a penalty is normal.", Coach Lê Quang Trãi revealed he comforted his player.

With this result, both HAGL and Thanh Hoá have now gone five consecutive V-League matches without a win. They have drawn 3 games and lost 2, accumulating 3 points and currently sharing the bottom positions. This is a serious "red alert" for Coach Lê Quang Trãi’s team, and without improvement, their relegation risk is very high.

After round 6, the V-League will pause for the FIFA international break. This will be a valuable time for the Pleiku stadium team to review past rounds, reassess their squad, and find ways to improve their point tally in upcoming matches.
