Born in 1978, coach Harry Kewell is a well-known figure among Vietnamese football fans. Internationally, the Australian legend earned 56 caps for his national team, scored 17 goals, and participated in the 2006 and 2010 World Cups. At club level, Kewell gained fame in the English Premier League with Leeds United and Liverpool, winning the UEFA Champions League in 2004/2005 and the FA Cup in 2005/2006.

After retiring at age 36, Harry Kewell began his coaching career in 2017, managing clubs in England such as Crawley Town, Notts County, Oldham Athletic, and Barnet. In 2022, he joined Celtic FC’s coaching staff in Scotland as assistant to Ange Postecoglou before taking over as head coach of Yokohama F. Marinos in early 2024. Under his leadership, the Japanese club finished runner-up in the 2023/2024 AFC Champions League.

Over the past two decades, Hanoi Football Club has become one of the most successful teams in Vietnam. However, the capital’s club continuously asserts its ambition to grow and integrate internationally. Appointing Harry Kewell is seen as a strong message for the club’s long-term development strategy and marks the beginning of a new era for Hanoi FC.

After temporarily leading Hanoi FC for three matches, Mr. Yusuke Adachi will return to his role as Technical Director. The Japanese expert will continue implementing the strategies set for the first team as well as the youth teams at the Hanoi Football Youth Training Center.
