Coach Thomas Frank expressed great admiration for Kudus after the tight win against Leeds.
Tottenham continued their strong start in the Premier League with a crucial 2-1 win away at Leeds United. Spurs have secured 14 out of a possible 21 points after the first 7 rounds, temporarily climbing to 2nd place in the standings before the upcoming matches.
However, Tottenham faced significant challenges against Leeds. Fortunately, Kudus' decisive goal early in the second half ensured the "Spurs" left the away ground with all three points. After the match, Coach Thomas Frank praised his most promising new signing from the recent transfer window, Kudus:
"I’m very happy he scored that goal because it was clear he really wanted it. Not only did he score, but he netted the winning goal in a tight away victory, and it was a beautiful strike. I’m genuinely pleased with that.
But I also need to mention Mathys Tel. He scored his first goal of the season, had some difficulties, but I’m very, very happy for him. Elland Road is a very tough stadium; I’ve experienced that many times. Their fans are fantastic, and so are our away supporters.
I think we needed a win after recent draws. I also have great respect for Leeds and Elland Road. They hadn’t lost here in over a year, and we were fully aware of the challenge ahead. We managed to overcome it very well.
Overall, I believe we played a very good match. We attacked well, created many chances and opportunities, and should have capitalized better on some situations. For most of the game, I think we defended well and attacked effectively, so this is a well-deserved victory."
