Midfielder Viktor Lê was absent from the U23 Vietnam team gathering on October 4th.
Due to personal matters, the Russian-Vietnamese midfielder requested permission from the coaching staff to join the team later than scheduled. Viktor Lê is expected to arrive in Hanoi by noon on October 5th to attend the training session that afternoon.
Viktor Lê has been performing well for Hong Linh Ha Tinh Club in the V-League. In round 4, the 2003-born player scored the goal that helped the team secure a draw in the "Nghe derby." Earlier in round 3, he also provided an assist for the team.
At the national team level, the Russian-Vietnamese player has also shown progress in the latest tournament with U23 Vietnam, which was the AFC U23 Championship qualifiers. In the opening match against U23 Bangladesh, Viktor Lê scored his first goal representing the Vietnam national team.
Regarding the U23 Vietnam team, all 22 players listed were present at the Youth Football Training Center on October 4th, notably including two overseas Vietnamese players, Vadim Nguyễn and Trần Thành Trung. After the medical check-up that evening, all U23 players were confirmed to be in good health with no serious injuries.
According to the plan, the U23 Vietnam team will train at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center until October 7th, then depart for training in the UAE. There, the team will play two highly competitive friendly matches against the U23 Qatar team on October 9th and 13th, aiming to further refine the squad, practice tactics, and gain experience for upcoming goals: SEA Games 33 and the AFC U23 Championship 2026 in Saudi Arabia, scheduled for January 2026.
