Captain Reece James believes that the thrilling 2-1 victory over Liverpool will serve as a crucial boost to help Chelsea return to their winning ways in the Premier League.
In the intense match at Stamford Bridge, young talent Estevao Willian shone by scoring the decisive goal in injury time, securing three valuable points for The Blues against the reigning champions Liverpool.
After the game, James expressed his pride in the team’s fighting spirit: “It was a fantastic match. We started well and maintained control throughout the half. When they equalized, we didn’t lose heart but kept pushing, fighting until the very last minute. And the reward was a well-deserved late goal.”
The Chelsea captain also admitted that facing top opponents like Liverpool always provides special motivation for the entire team: “From the first minute, the atmosphere was electric. However, the English captain quickly adapted and showed rare composure. “I never thought I would play as a center-back, it’s a position I’ve never held before. But this is top-level football; you have to adapt immediately and give your best. I feel I’m getting closer to my best form,” James shared.
