Lewandowski missed a penalty, Barca suffered a heavy defeat, losing the top spot in La Liga

Before Barca could recover control, they paid the price again. In the 37th minute, Jules Kounde lost possession dangerously in midfield, Sevilla countered quickly, and Ruben Vargas delivered a perfect cross for Isaac Romero to easily tap in and double the lead to 2-0.

Earlier, Romero had squandered several good chances by shooting wide and was denied by Szczesny from a favorable position.

It seemed the first half would end safely for Sevilla, but Barca suddenly pushed forward. In the 45+7 minute, Pedri sent a precise cross for Marcus Rashford to volley beautifully, cutting the score to 1-2 and rekindling hope for the visitors before halftime.

After that, Barca gradually fell apart. In the 90th minute, Sevilla dealt the final blow when Jose Angel Carmona sprinted from his own half and scored with a diagonal shot past Szczesny, making it 3-1.

In the 90+7 minute, Chidera Ejuke assisted Akor Adams, who easily scored from close range to seal a dominant 4-1 win for Sevilla.

This heavy loss demonstrated that Barca not only lacked resilience at key moments but also wasted too many chances. Meanwhile, Sevilla took full advantage of the opponent’s mistakes and lapses to earn a convincing victory.
