Pep Guardiola expressed a heartfelt tribute to Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsène Wenger following Manchester City's achievement of a new milestone.

Pep Guardiola plans to invite Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsène Wenger to dinner in Manchester, after becoming the fastest coach to reach 250 wins in history in the Premier League. The Spanish manager reached this milestone in just 349 matches, 55 fewer than Sir Alex and far ahead of Wenger, who took 423 games to achieve the same.

To set this record, Man City showed great resilience in the second half to maintain a 1-0 win over Brentford, thanks to an early goal by Erling Haaland. Although they failed to capitalize on their dominance in the first half, Pep’s squad stood firm under relentless pressure after the break, allowing the Spanish coach to reach a historic milestone he is very proud of.

“We have won a lot! Otherwise, you wouldn’t be able to earn this title. It’s an honor to stand alongside Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsène Wenger. I will invite them to dinner, maybe not in Manchester, perhaps somewhere sunnier… No, it will be in Manchester. It’s a privilege and a joy to be part of Premier League history,” Pep Guardiola shared emotionally.

Man City demonstrated a steely spirit to hold the scoreline, after previously losing a lead against Monaco midweek and conceding a 2-2 draw to Brentford in January. “Winning 1-0 away is always tough. I’m proud of the first half; it was our best performance in months, but we needed to score more,” Pep said.

“We knew they would push forward in the second half. The Premier League is always like that — long balls, throw-ins, corners, or free kicks can cause problems. Still, the whole team played well, Donnarumma made crucial saves when Josko Gvardiol lost duels. Maybe we didn’t create many chances, but there were clear opportunities. I’m really satisfied since the Man United game; it feels like we improve every match.”
