Van Hau brings great news for Vietnam National Team and Coach Kim Sang Sik

Assistant coach Thanh Luong disclosed that Van Hau has matched the training schedule of CAHN club and could make a comeback shortly.

As previously reported, Doan Van Hau was not included in CAHN club’s registered squad for the first half of the V-League season. This indicates that the player will continue his rehabilitation and miss the opening phase of the season.

The good news is that Van Hau’s injury is showing positive signs; he is able to do light running and train with the ball, although he cannot yet train with the full team. Although CAHN wishes to extend his contract, both parties have not reached an agreement. According to several sources, Van Hau may need more time to fully recover, possibly until early 2026.

Notably, according to the latest revelation from CAHN’s assistant coach Thanh Luong, Van Hau is showing very promising signs for a return to the pitch: "Van Hau has caught up with the team’s training program. Coach Polking is very pleased to see Van Hau able to train again."

Although it is still too early to predict the exact return date, Van Hau is expected to officially play again in early 2026. This is not only great news for CAHN but also for the Vietnam National Team and Coach Kim Sang Sik. The national team still needs a high-quality left-back with experience, good physique, and versatility.

Since September 2023, Doan Van Hau has been struggling with a severe Achilles tendon injury, forcing him to take a long break from playing and undergo continuous treatment abroad, including multiple trips to Singapore and South Korea. By the end of 2023, Van Hau had traveled to Singapore three times for treatment of this injury. However, up to now, the treatment has faced many difficulties, preventing his return to the field.

According to statistics from Transfermarkt, just in the 2023/2024 season, Van Hau has been absent for a total of 669 days due to the Achilles injury. Previously, during 2020-2022, he also had to take a long break because of a serious knee injury, bringing his total injury-related absence to over 1110 days.
