3 Vietnamese national team players must train separately on the first day of gathering

In the initial training of the Vietnam national team, three young PVF CAND players trained individually under the supervision of the team doctor.

On the afternoon of October 5th, the Vietnam national team held their first training session at Binh Duong Stadium to prepare for the upcoming two matches against Nepal in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. Since this was the first training after players had just competed in the V-League, the national team roster was not fully complete.

Specifically, three young players under PVF CAND – Xuan Bac, Thanh Nhan, and Hieu Minh – were assigned to train separately with Vietnam national team doctor Tran Huy Tho. The trio did light jogging for about 5 laps around the field before the doctor guided them through endurance exercises in a corner of the pitch.

However, it is understandable why these three young players trained separately. PVF CAND had just finished their 6th round of V-League on October 3rd, playing away against Ha Tinh, and on October 4th, Thanh Nhan, Xuan Bac, and Hieu Minh only flew to Ho Chi Minh City before heading to Thu Dau Mot to join the national team. Therefore, their separate training was to help them avoid physical overload.

Among these three, Xuan Bac and Hieu Minh were called up to the Vietnam national team for the first time. These two players performed excellently with the U23 Vietnam team at the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship and the 2026 U23 Asian qualifiers. Hence, both were given an opportunity by coach Kim Sang Sik.

During this training, coach Kim Sang Sik allowed media coverage for the first 20 minutes, while spectators could watch the entire session but were not permitted to record videos. The Vietnam national team trained with only 22 players because Quang Hai withdrew due to injury and Bui Tien Dung stayed at the hotel due to health issues.

Coach Kim Sang Sik and his team have 5 days of training before the first leg against Nepal at 7:30 PM on October 9th at Go Dau Stadium (Thu Dau Mot, Ho Chi Minh City). The second leg will take place at 7:30 PM on October 14th at Thong Nhat Stadium (Ho Chi Minh City).
