AC Milan failed to capitalize on the opportunity to take full points and consequently lost their position at the top of the Serie A table following Christian Pulisic’s missed penalty in the tie with Juventus.
The match between Juventus and AC Milan at Allianz Stadium was intense from the start, with both teams opting for a tight, midfield-controlling style. The first half featured fierce battles, with yellow cards shown to Youssouf Fofana and Manuel Locatelli. However, neither side created truly dangerous chances in front of the goal.
In the second half, the pace increased. Juventus had a chance to open the scoring in the 48th minute when Federico Gatti received a cross inside the box and quickly shot, but Milan’s goalkeeper Mike Maignan made an outstanding save. Shortly after, a turning point seemed to arrive as Lloyd Kelly pulled an opponent’s shirt in the penalty area, leading referee Marco Guida to award Milan a penalty in the 53rd minute.

However, Christian Pulisic’s shot soared over the crossbar by a narrow margin, squandering the chance to take the lead. This moment was decisive in preventing Milan from gaining an advantage in the title race.
From the 59th minute onwards, both teams made multiple substitutions to find a breakthrough. Milan brought on Rafael Leao and Loftus-Cheek, while Juventus responded by introducing Openda, Vlahovic, and Thuram to boost their attack. Nevertheless, the solid defenses on both sides kept the scoreline goalless.
Both teams deployed attacking players, but neither could break through the opponent’s strong defensive line.
At the 73rd minute, Rafael Leao had a sharp close-range shot that narrowly missed the post. Then in the 90+1 minute, he again frustrated fans as his shot from a tight angle was brilliantly saved by goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio.
The match ended 0-0, leaving AC Milan disappointed. Pulisic’s missed penalty caused them to lose the Serie A lead, while Juventus maintained their unbeaten streak under coach Igor Tudor. Both teams left the pitch unsatisfied but remain close contenders in the top group of the standings.
