Kompany's Bayern Munich is the 'Alien' of the Bundesliga

Bayern Munich is showing total dominance in the Bundesliga as the only team with a perfect winning streak. Vincent Kompany’s Bayern is described as the "Aliens" of Germany’s top league.

After scoring 99 goals to reclaim the Meisterschale last season under Vincent Kompany, it seemed hard to imagine Bayern Munich could improve further following such an excellent campaign. Yet, after just six rounds this season, everyone has been amazed. The 3-0 win over Frankfurt once again confirmed Kompany’s team is in incredible form for the 2025-26 season.

At just the 15th second, Diaz opened the scoring for Bayern—matching their record for the fastest away goal in Bundesliga history, previously set by Jamal Musiala at Kiel in round 3 last season. This goal made Diaz the 12th fastest scorer in Bundesliga history.

Harry Kane made an impact by scoring to increase the lead to 2-0. This was Kane’s 11th Bundesliga goal this season, an unprecedented achievement in the league’s history—no player has scored 11 goals after only six rounds.

Even excluding penalty goals, Kane still leads the "Top Scorer" list. The only hope now is that Kane might lose his scoring enthusiasm due to boredom for the rest of the season. The German magazine Spiegel Sport wryly commented: "In the 82nd minute, Kane was fouled and had to leave the field limping. But perhaps, even hobbling, Kane could still score two goals per game."

Diaz’s second goal in the match helped Bayern raise their Bundesliga goal tally this season to 25 after six matches, another record-breaking accomplishment.

Harry Kane and Bayern Munich are flying high in this Bundesliga season

Remarkably, Bayern achieved this despite missing Musiala and Alphonso Davies, two key players in previous seasons.

Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich also matched another milestone: winning all 10 official matches since the start of the season. This set a record since their promotion to the Bundesliga in 1965. Bayern’s devastating form led the Germanpublication Spiegel Sport to publish an article titled: "Bayern Munich, the Aliens of the Bundesliga".

"The Allianz Arena has long been compared to a spaceship; if that’s true, then Bayern are the 'aliens' ruling this league. Good for Bayern, but not so pleasant for the rest of the Bundesliga," Spiegel Sport acknowledged.

Meanwhile, Forbes writer Manuel Veth questioned: "Can Bayern achieve the treble this season?"

Statistically, Bayern has scored 38 goals in 10 official matches this season, averaging 3.8 goals per game, while conceding only 8 goals (0.8 per match). Compared to the 2012/13 season, Bayern then scored 28 goals in their first 10 games across all competitions. Moreover, Kompany’s current team has won all 10 matches, whereas Heynckes’ Bayern lost to BATE Borisov in the second group stage match of the Champions League that year.

Vincent Kompany remains composed about Bayern’s winning streak: "The most important thing is that we always feel we can win another 10 games. It was the same last season. We need to keep that mindset, even when results aren’t favorable."

Bayern enters the international break with a 4-point lead atop the table. After the break, Dortmund will visit Allianz Arena, and this match could be crucial for the title race.
