The Belgian-Vietnamese defender born in 2007, Lenn-Minh Tran, has officially signed a three-year professional contract with MVV Maastricht in the Netherlands following impressive performances in the Eerste Divisie.
After a remarkable half-season in the Dutch Eerste Divisie, young Belgian-Vietnamese defender Lenn-Minh Tran has secured a three-year professional deal with MVV Maastricht. This marks a significant milestone in the 18-year-old's career and brings him closer to his dream of representing Vietnam internationally in the future.
Joining MVV Maastricht from KRC Genk’s U18 squad at the start of the season, Lenn-Minh Tran quickly proved his talent and maturity. In 10 matches so far in the Eerste Divisie, he has started 9 times, becoming a key figure in the team’s defense. With an ideal physique, strong anticipation skills, and a modern style of play, Lenn-Minh Tran is regarded by experts as one of MVV’s most promising young talents.
According to the club’s official website, technical director Ronny van Geneugden commented: “Lenn-Minh could be our future right-back. He defends solidly, has the ability to push forward effectively, and handles the ball very well. This contract is a well-deserved reward for his efforts. Now, Lenn-Minh needs to maintain his form and continue developing.”
Lenn-Minh Tran’s outstanding displays not only earned him a professional contract but also the honor of being called up to the Belgium U19 squad in the recent training camp. This highlights the clear progress of the Vietnamese-origin player in European football environments.
Importantly, Lenn-Minh Tran’s family is currently completing the necessary procedures for him to obtain Vietnamese citizenship, hoping that he can represent Vietnam’s youth national teams in the future.
Lenn-Minh Tran’s rapid rise in the Netherlands is a positive sign for Vietnamese football, as many overseas Vietnamese players are gradually making their mark in Europe. With his talent, ambition, and solid training background, Lenn-Minh promises to be a bright prospect for the future of Vietnamese football.
