Two Manchester United players set for permanent transfers next summer! Napoli determined to buy Højlund, Barcelona surprised by Rashford

Rashford, loaned from Manchester United to Barcelona, scored his first La Liga goal, but despite teammate Lewandowski missing a penalty, the team ultimately lost to Sevilla, where another former Red Devil, Alexis Sánchez, plays. However, Rashford is reported to have won over the Barcelona players who were initially doubtful about signing him.

The 27-year-old Rashford scored a spectacular goal, receiving an over-the-top pass from Pedri and volleying with his left foot into the far corner, reducing Barcelona’s deficit to 1-2. Rashford also made several runs into open spaces during the match, but unfortunately, his teammates failed to deliver timely passes. Barcelona eventually suffered a heavy 1-4 defeat and now trail league leaders Real Madrid by 2 points.

Rashford was named the official man of the match, but he collapsed on the ground at the end of the game and received treatment from the medical staff, appearing injured. He then limped off the pitch. However, according to the Daily Sport, Rashford’s injury is minor; he was simply kicked and is expected to be fine.

As for his limping departure, it’s a gesture Rashford often made during his time at Manchester United, usually to show he gave his all and was exhausted. Yet, Barcelona, unfamiliar with this, might be moved by it.

According to "Athletic Network," Rashford’s performances have earned the respect of his Barcelona teammates. Initially, due to negative incidents during the final phase of his Manchester United tenure, his loan signing was met with some skepticism in the Barcelona dressing room. But with 3 goals and 5 assists, those doubts have now been erased.

The British Daily Mirror reports that Barcelona president Laporta and other executives were shocked that Manchester United agreed to loan Rashford for free with a €30 million buyout clause.

A Barcelona insider said, "At his peak, Marcus was one of Europe’s best players. Barcelona secured a truly bargain deal, as Marcus’s current market value should exceed £60 million!"

Ironically, although Barcelona feels they got a "steal," they still hope to negotiate the €30 million permanent transfer fee down a bit. Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that Manchester United is very likely to finalize permanent deals for both Rashford and Højlund next summer.

Like Rashford, Højlund has also scored several goals for Napoli, netting the winning goal in Sunday’s 2-1 victory over Genoa. Romano stated, "Napoli are very pleased with Højlund and by June 2026, he will permanently be a Napoli player. Rashford staying at Barcelona is also highly probable; he enjoys great cooperation with the club, teammates, and coach. He does not want to return to Manchester United, making a comeback completely impossible."

According to the loan contract, Napoli must pay €40 million to buy Højlund permanently if they qualify for the Champions League this season. Currently leading Serie A, meeting the permanent transfer condition seems only a matter of time. Whether Manchester United can secure €70 million next summer mainly depends on negotiations with Barcelona.
