'Liverpool's defeat to Chelsea is the worst'

Liverpool suffered their third consecutive loss after falling 1-2 to Chelsea in the 95th minute, with Alexander Isak admitting it was the "worst feeling" but still believing the team will bounce back.

Liverpool continues to spiral into crisis as they were defeated 2-1 by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, marking their third straight loss across all competitions. The decisive goal in the 95th stoppage minute by young talent Estevao caused coach Arne Slot's squad to lose the Premier League lead to Arsenal, increasing pressure after a disappointing run of matches.

After the game, striker Alexander Isak, who started his second Premier League match for Liverpool, openly admitted to feeling extreme disappointment.

“We started poorly but then regained control and played better. In the second half, the whole team gave their all to find a positive result. However, conceding in the final moments is really hard to swallow. If winning like this brings the greatest joy, then losing like this is the absolute worst”, Isak shared.

Nevertheless, the Swedish forward remained optimistic. He believes Liverpool have enough confidence and strength to recover after the international break. “We created many chances, enough to score, but today it wasn’t enough. The whole team needs to keep working hard, improve the details, and regain top form. The belief remains, and Liverpool have repeatedly shown their ability to make strong comebacks.”

Previously, Liverpool had fallen to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park and Galatasaray in European competition. Both losses followed the same pattern: conceding in stoppage time. The defeat to Chelsea once again exposed The Reds’ weaknesses in resilience and focus during critical moments.

The match against Chelsea also showcased a positive performance from Isak. He assisted Cody Gakpo’s equalizer, proving his improving integration since joining from Newcastle. Although he admitted not yet at peak condition, Isak confirmed he is working hard every day to regain his best form.

“I feel okay and have trained very hard to return to peak fitness. Today was great to get more playing time, even though the result was disappointing. I’m very excited about this season; every game is an opportunity for us to improve and aim for big goals.”

Three consecutive defeats have not only set Liverpool back in the title race but also put coach Arne Slot in a difficult position. However, with the players’ confidence and the return of key figures after the international break, The Reds are expected to soon find their winning rhythm again.
