A manager who has previously claimed the La Liga title is waiting for Man Utd to contact him should they decide to fire Ruben Amorim.
Man Utd’s victory over Sunderland in the 7th round of the Premier League helped secure coach Ruben Amorim’s position temporarily, almost ruling out any coaching changes during the upcoming international break.
However, pressure on the Portuguese strategist remains intense, especially with a challenging run of matches against Liverpool, Brighton, Nottingham Forest, and Tottenham from late October to early November.
According to the site Caught Offside, the possibility of Amorim being dismissed in the coming weeks is still very real, and Barcelona legend Xavi Hernandez is ready to accept an offer from Man Utd’s management if they decide to make a change.
Since leaving Barcelona in 2024, Xavi has declined all coaching offers, including from Saudi Pro League clubs. Nevertheless, the former Spanish star reportedly wants to test himself in the Premier League, which he views as the next step in his coaching career.
During his tenure at Barcelona, Xavi led the team to a La Liga title and was known for a modern, flexible tactical style. Experts believe this could significantly improve the "Red Devils," especially since Amorim’s 3-4-3 formation has shown inefficiency.
In addition to tactical skills, Xavi has a strong advantage in managing the dressing room. As a former Barcelona captain, he understands how to lead star players and maintain team discipline—something many predecessors at Old Trafford have struggled with.
Compared to names like Andoni Iraola or Oliver Glasner, Xavi is a better option because he is currently available without requiring Man Utd to pay any compensation to another club.
Overall, Xavi Hernandez is considered the top candidate if Man Utd decide to replace their coach. However, for now, Ruben Amorim still retains his position at Old Trafford.
