Legendary Harry Kewell shared some interesting thoughts right after arriving in Vietnam.
On October 5th, Coach Harry Kewell officially arrived in Vietnam, beginning an ambitious journey with Hanoi Football Club.
Speaking immediately after landing, the Australian football legend stated: “I am very grateful to football; it has taken me to many wonderful places. Hanoi is a beautiful city, but back then we were eliminated early, so we couldn’t fully enjoy it. Now that I’m back, I feel very excited and truly eager to get started right away.”
Coach Harry Kewell also mentioned that having played and worked in various countries around the world (England, Turkey, Scotland) helps him adapt easily to new environments:“Every country has its own culture, and I always tell my children to embrace the culture wherever they go. If you can do that, life becomes much easier. I will enjoy life in Hanoi just as I enjoy football."
Regarding Asian players in general, the strategist said: “I have worked with many Asian players, from Japan to South Korea, and they all show great spirit and effort. I believe Vietnamese players are the same. I want to create an environment where they are always eager to learn and improve themselves. When they progress, the team will also advance. I know Vietnamese players are very receptive and always want to develop, and helping them improve is my mission."
Arriving in Vietnam during the Mid-Autumn Festival, Coach Harry Kewell also tried the traditional Vietnamese mooncake. When asked about Vietnamese cuisine and his upcoming life in Hanoi, Harry Kewell revealed: “I love food, my wife cooks very well, and I want to try all Vietnamese dishes - except mushrooms! But first and foremost, football is my top priority.
I am very excited to meet the fans. Hopefully, together we can create an amazing atmosphere and bring Hanoi FC back to its former glory. That is why I am here,” the coach said.
